Making Climate Change Education Relevant: Experiential, Place-Based Learning for Grades 9-12 (SWATCA)

Feb 25, 2022 1:30 PM EST

This session will explore how GreenLearning's place-based environmental programs and resources can be used to promote relevant and experiential learning in secondary classrooms.

Climate change is one of the most complex socio-environmental issues facing students today. As a result, addressing climate change is no longer reserved for the science classroom. This session will explore a range of GreenLearning’s free environmental programs and how they can take a place-based, experiential approach to tackling climate change. We will take a look at some of the lessons and digital tools for teaching about climate change through various lenses and be inspired by a showcase of past climate change classroom projects from across Canada.

This session is part of the the South Western Alberta Teachers’ Convention February 25, 2022 at 11:30am MST.
