Our Challenges

Spark Students' Skills!

Embark on an exciting journey of discovery in the ultimate learning experience! We invite educators and students across Canada to sharpen their skills, knowledge and understanding as they participate in our environmental and climate action challenges. All participants and their incredible projects will be featured in our submission showcase.

Engage Your Class In Eco-Learning!

Register for one of GreenLearning’s unique educational experiences that are fun and hands-on! Your participation will involve going through a series of educational lessons on a particular theme or topic within a program, after which your class will put their learning into action! Students will invent solutions for a sustainable future as part of a quest to help the planet. In the process, they will build competencies such as critical-thinking, collaboration, communication, and decision-making.

Are You Ready? Here's How It Works!

STEP ONE:
Select a challenge

Our challenges cover three main topic areas or pathways – energy transition, green economy and climate change. The best part is that you get to select the one that matters most to your school and community!

Energy Transition

Green Economy

Climate Change

A simple class discussion or viewing the previous year’s challenge video recap is enough to get learners super excited. In the challenge, students will complete a series of hands-on activities (insightful, yet fun!) that test their critical thinking and put their knowledge into action.

STEP TWO:
Express your interest

By registering for the challenge, documenting the learning journey and sharing your story, your class will see the collective impact youth across Canada are having. Once you have submitted your challenge projects, they will be eligible for judging towards potentially winning a cash prize: first place prize of $1000, second place prize of $500 and third place prize of $250. Below is a snapshot of our impact until date. Express your interest to count among the collective numbers!

STEP THREE
Celebrate the outcomes:

Young people represent the future! We have a responsibility to elevate and celebrate their climate action. Winners or not, your students’ projects and their achievements will be displayed in our Challenge Showcase! Everyone will be able to see the small but mighty strides they are taking to ensure a greener world for future generations.
