It’s Raining, It’s Pouring! Classroom Workshop
Students will explore the surface area of their own school by using math to create a permeability map. They will use critical thinking skills to draw conclusions and make their school resilient to stormwater, snowmelt and other forms of flooding.
It’s raining, it’s pouring, get your learners exploring with a live, virtual lesson adapted from GreenLearning’s extreme weather program: Flood:Ed. In this place-based lesson, learners will explore the surface area of their own school by using math to create a permeability map. Critical thinking skills will be put into action as learners use this information to draw conclusions and make their school more resilient to stormwater, snowmelt and other common forms of flooding. This workshop is intended for learners in grade 4-8.
